From ISRO’s space programs to becoming Partner at PwC India. This is not a career shift. It is two decades of turning deep engineering into business and revenue.
Raghavendra Kulkarni is now Partner | Advisory at PwC India, leading the Engineering Transformation Practice. His journey shows what AI-led ER&D and digital engineering transformation truly demand. Not just consulting frameworks, but leaders who have built products, scaled practices, and converted technology into commercial outcomes.
He began at the ISRO - Indian Space Research Organization, building embedded systems and strong engineering foundations. At Wipro, he applied this depth in enterprise environments. At Bosch Global Software Technologies, he moved from delivery to building businesses across blockchain, AIoT, connected products, and embedded engineering, creating revenue streams from emerging technologies. In 2011, he received the Star Performer Award for top sales in engineering tools across Europe, reflecting his ability to translate technical capability into market value.
In Germany with Robert Bosch Technical and Business Solutions GmbH, he handled cross-border operations and board roles at ASAM e.V., shaping multi-market technology strategy. At Accenture, as Managing Director, he led the Software Defined-X vision across Industry X, driving growth, global sales, delivery, and practice building with P&L ownership.
Now at PwC India, he is building the Engineering Transformation Practice from scratch, focused on AI-led ER&D, digital engineering, industrial IoT, and software-defined architectures for automotive and industrial clients. Strategy, execution, and scalable delivery come together in this role.
Backed by Indian Institute of Management Bangalore programs in Innovation and M&A Strategy, blockchain certifications, German language proficiency, and thought leadership in digital engineering, his real credential is twenty years of turning complex engineering into scalable, profitable practices across space, automotive, industrial, and advisory domains.
At Boardroom CXO, we see a clear shift. Firms and industrial clients increasingly prefer leaders with hands-on engineering and practice-building experience over pure strategy profiles, especially for AI-led and Industry 4.0 transformation.
What is harder, building a new engineering transformation practice from zero or scaling one while retaining credibility with engineering-first clients?
