Career pivots don't always slow growth. Sometimes, they accelerate it.
Johnson Paulraj has been promoted to Senior Vice President at JLL India, capping a 16 year journey across creative services, technology, consulting, and commercial real estate.
He began his career at Sun&Xbots and Sify Technologies Limited. as a Graphic Designer, moved to IBM Global Process Services as a Creative Specialist, then joined Accenture in India as a Senior Software Engineer, building strong stakeholder management and commercial problem solving skills before transitioning into real estate with CBRE India.
Since joining JLL India in 2018, Johnson has progressed through four leadership roles, from Assistant Manager to Senior Vice President. He has led business development, land acquisition, corporate leasing, and strategic client relationships across South India, while consistently delivering ₹2 crore plus annual revenue from 2021 to 2025 with P&L ownership.
His journey reinforces that today's real estate leaders need more than sector expertise. They need commercial acumen, relationship building, negotiation skills, and the ability to solve complex business problems.
At Boardroom CXO, we're seeing more organizations value cross industry leadership alongside strong execution and revenue ownership when hiring senior real estate leaders.
Question for real estate leaders: What's harder today, building long term developer relationships, or winning corporate occupier mandates in an increasingly competitive market?
