The strongest business leaders aren't always built within a single function.
Anil Sahni has been appointed Executive Director at ART Housing Finance (India) Ltd., following 20+ years across pharma, insurance, banking, telecom, HR, and housing finance.
He began at Macmillan Pharmaceuticals in regional sales, followed by sales and training roles at Bajaj Life, Exide Life Insurance, Axis Max Life Insurance Limited, and ICICI Bank, where he led capability building for the home loans business.
He then moved into HR leadership at Telenor India, Muthoot Housing Finance Company Limited, Finova Capital, and India Shelter Finance Corporation Ltd , before joining ART Housing Finance (India) Ltd in 2022 as VP and Head HR.
At ART, his mandate expanded to sales, collections, strategic marketing, corporate communications, and human capital. Elevated to Senior Group President in April 2026, he now takes on the Executive Director role.
His differentiator is the ability to connect people strategy with sales performance, collections, capability building, and business growth, bringing commercial and HR leadership together. He holds a B.Com, Diploma in Training and Development, eMBA in HR, EPHRM from Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, and a Licentiate in Life Insurance.
At Boardroom CXO, we're seeing NBFC and housing finance companies increasingly value leaders who can bridge people, performance, and business strategy across functions.
Question for NBFC leaders: What's harder, building a high-performance sales and collections culture, or scaling people and capability systems fast enough to support sustainable lending growth?
